What they’re saying.
“The Weary Ramblers will break your heart and change your life with original songs that cut to the marrow…it doesn’t get more heart-warmingly down home than this recently united duo, featuring Chad Elliott on guitar and vocals and Kathryn Severing Fox on vocals, guitar, fiddle, viola, mandolin, and piano. Both bring a disarming intimacy to their writing, singing and playing that will leave you glowing with reasons to be alive. Chad is a veteran of the Paradiso stage, having left us in a puddle…the addition of Kathryn increases the melt factor exponentially.” - Fairfield Muse
“The Weary Ramblers, featuring Chad Elliott and Kathryn Fox, are making waves with their fresh take on folk music. This duo stands out for their exceptional chemistry and multi-instrumental talents, offering a performance rich in tight harmonies and compelling storytelling. Their performances are not just concerts, but a journey through heartfelt lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies.” - Heylo
“Though they’re no strangers to flying solo, the newish duo of multi-instrumentalist songwriters Kathryn Fox and Chad Elliott is seemingly made of magic. I count myself lucky to have been at the Okoboji Writers’ Retreat last fall when their “Pretty Lights of Denver” dropped many jaws at the concert hall. I understand now why their debut album together soared into the #1 spot on the Contemporary Folk chart and stayed there for seven weeks. And as evidenced by their nine 2024 Grammy considerations, it would appear the pair is a folk force to be reckoned with…with haunting harmonies, gifted storytelling, and nuanced musicianship, these Weary Ramblers will softly crack your heart open.” - The Iowa Source

“Hands down the best music to hit the scene in some time. Weary Ramblers self titled debut release is exposing the world to their virtuosity. Their music is based in Folk and Americana but the imagery, sweet harmonizing and instrumentation take it to another level and warrants their Grammy consideration. — John Clingan, fan
“What great vocals! Kathryn sounds amazing on fiddle and mandolin. The melody on Hidden Road is really strong. I feel undertones of Simon and Garfunkel. The finger-picking on Montrose is sublime as well as the vocal lines that accompany the guitar. I really like the whole feel/atmosphere of this track. Great vocal presence on Medicine Creek with really subtle pad background (strings) and very supportive fiddle playing.....played with such ease and grace. Oh, Carolina is a song I had to hear as my family lives in North Carolina. Again, great vocal harmonies..the timbre of each voice compliments the other and the three part harmonies give me a feeling of James Taylor in the way that he uses three part harmony in his stuff. I love the bluegrass/dixieland feel of Mend This Broken Heart. I think Speak Low is a perfect way to end the album....very calming and reflective.” — Tom Nazziola, Recording Academy
“The hottest and by FAR hardest working midwest duo and perennial Cabin Concerts favs. Fresh off their scintillating first album release and climbing the charts to no. 1 in our hearts.” — Daryl Bruxvoort, house concert host & fan

The vocals are warm and intimate, carrying a depth of emotion that resonates deeply. Each song feels timeless, blending simplicity with a soothing, yet profound, elegance. The arrangements are absolutely breathtaking and compelling. Pretty Lights of Denver, Tall Virginia Tree, Number the Stars, and On a Golden Day of Light are among my favorites.
